Bird Smirk Business Card
On a daily basis, my CafePress shop, “Bird Smirk Creations”, is about one in a million things available on the internet. And that might be a very generous assessment. What are the odds that somebody is going to come across my site? That’s right…about one in a million. Therefore, I have designed a physical counterpart to the digital Bird Smirk. The Bird Smirk business card.
I am thinking about purchasing 500 business card magnets and plastering them all over town. I hope it is not illegal. My theory is that people will take them and stick them on their refrigerator. On the other hand, if they don’t take them, they will serve as advertising… like a tiny, tiny billboard! Let’s see what happens, shall we?
CafePress Shop
Bird Smirk is the new name of my CafePress shop. This is where you can purchase a myriad of products emblazoned with my original art creations. Revamped and ready for your perusal! Seriously though, a lot has changed. For instance, the basic look has changed from a rather boring layout to a more attractive online presence. Also, you will find that I have expanded into a more diverse collection of design choices (not just black and white, and not just Oddbox). Explore the site by clicking on the Bird Smirk logo above.

Flipping Birds
Here is a drawing I did of my sister’s birds, Oscar and Gonzo. Oscar is the blue one in the foreground and Gonzo is the little green guy in the back. Gonzo is very vocal. He screams at the top of his lungs a lot. Such beauty. There is a funny story behind this drawing. Well, maybe not funny, but interesting. I guess…no…it’s not really that interesting, on second thought. Let me just say that I have an anecdote. When I was in the pencil sketch stage of this drawing, I left my sketchbook on the floor and the pig decided to nibble on it a little bit. When I tried to erase some lines I was not happy with, well…they just would not go away. I was contending with eraser resistant pig spittle, apparently. This occurrence caused me to choose colored pencil instead of watercolor as my medium. The end.

Penguins on Mars
And this is another Scribble Pad design. My computer went kaput, so I lost my Photoshop Elements. Fortunately, I discovered that I had a disc for PhotoImpact. It is very similar, but different…do you know what I mean? Like Earth and Mars are similar. They are both round. But they are different because I know my way around, here on Earth, but now that I have gone to Mars, it will take some time to get used to it.
