Stoopid! Magazine

Hey hey looky there…my comic strip Surewould Forest is in the very first issue of Stoopid Magazine! Not Stoopid! #1, but even better…Stoopid! #0. Stoopid! is like Mad Magazine…only better. I’m just kidding. Or am I?

Surewould Forest (The Lost Episodes)

To make a short story long, I was thinking that I tried to self-syndicate Doopy Joe, (and failed, by the way) but I couldn’t remember if I submitted it to newspaper syndicates or not. I still don’t know, but I don’t think I did. So I decided to give it a try.

I figured that the first step would be to dig out the old Doopy Joe originals. At present, I have only 16 finished Doopy Joes. The syndicates ask for 24 to 36 samples. To sustain consistency, I needed to know how I made them!  While digging through my boxes of artwork, and fending off several spiders, I discovered two forgotten episodes of Surewould Forest. Here is the first, and the second is forthcoming. Enjoy!

PS……..I still haven’t found the old Doopy Joe originals. I will probably have to “reverse engineer” them from the copies that I have.

Blast from the Past

This one is very dated and therefore comes with an explanation for those about 30 years old and younger. Once upon a time, there was a telephone service that you could call and they would tell you things about your future! Or give you sound advice by looking into a crystal ball, or by gazing into the entrails of a chicken! This service was called “Psychic Friends Hotline”.

Another thing that I should explain is the presence of a telephone in medieval England. Well, that is because this is a cartoon, and if I think there is a telephone in medieval England…then there is a telephone in medieval England!
